9th YEAR OF FREE INFLUENZA VACCINATION FOR ELDERLY RESIDENTS AT KRETA AYER

Saturday, 24th November 2018

Dr Lam, Dr Wong, our guest doctor, Dr David Allen and our clinic nurses provided the annual free influenza vaccination to the elderly from Kreta Ayer. Most of them are on public assistance and live in one room flats in the surrounding area. We were assisted by nurses from Metta Medical Care, volunteers from Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (BTRTS) and Kreta Ayer Seniors Activity Centre (KASAC).

Most of the 290 elderly were transported by bus provided by KASAC to BTRTS located at South Bridge Road where the event was held.

The first bus load of the elderly arrived at 12.40pm and after registering and having their temperatures taken by the volunteers from the BTRTS, the vaccination started at 1pm. By 3.10 pm, all the elderly were vaccinated. The volunteers from BTRTS were also given free influenza vaccinations.

Dr Lily Neo, Member of Parliament for Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng constituency, Jalan Besar GRC was there to grace the occasion.
We are very happy that many of the residents have come back yearly to be vaccinated and they expressed their gratitude to us for providing the free vaccination annually.

We also wish to thank BTRTS and KASAC for the logistic support and the assistance from their staff and volunteers who ensured that the event was run smoothly.

Finally, for the fourth consecutive year, Dr Wong and Dr Lam also donated 80 doses of the Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent influenza vaccines to the residents at the Metta Home in Woodlands.

A piece that respected the reader by not over explaining the obvious, and a look at thisdomainisabdu continued that calibrated approach, finding the right level of explanation is one of the harder editorial calls and this site has clearly thought carefully about what readers will already know versus what they need help with consistently.

Now setting up a small reminder to revisit the site on a slow day, and a stop at tasseltract confirmed the reminder was a good idea, planning return visits is a small organisational act that signals trust in ongoing quality and this site has earned that planned return through consistent performance across the pieces I have read so far.

Most blog writing on this subject reaches for the same handful of arguments and this post avoided them, and a look at siskatrance continued the original treatment, content that finds its own path through territory other writers have flattened is content with real authorial energy and this site has plenty of that distinctive energy.

If I am being honest this is the kind of site I quietly hope my own work will someday resemble, and a stop at vesseltame extended that aspirational feeling, finding work that models what I want to produce is part of why I read carefully and this site has been performing that modelling function for me lately consistently.

Thanks for the honest framing without exaggerated claims that the topic will change my life, and a stop at singersorbet kept the same modest tone, restraint in marketing language signals trustworthiness and the writers here are clearly playing the long game by building credibility rather than chasing immediate clicks through hyperbole.

A small thank you note from me to the team behind this work, the post earned it, and a stop at waferturtle suggested more thanks would be in order over time, recognising the people who do good writing online is something I try to remember to do because the alternative is silence and silence rewards mediocrity unfortunately.
